Here at Accappella we are able to offer a truly bespoke service through hand finishing one of the many plain wooden mouldings we have to offer at the studio. Hand finishing can range from decorative mouldings with many different tones to plain pine mouldings with a single very subtle tone to blend in with the framed piece.
Very often customers visit the studio with what looks like a black and white picture but when placed next to a solid black frame the tones of the picture can be towards green or purple, it is in this instance that a hand finished frame will set the photograph off much better than a pre-finished moulding.
Hand finishing gives the opportunity to combine different frame profiles together as the finish is applied after the frame is made, equally hand finishing provides the opportunity to apply additional decorations to the corners of frames, Creating a truly bespoke picture frame.
Hand finishing can be combined with pre-finished mouldings to great effect, especially with oil paintings. The below picture is an example of this, a very nice pre-finshed moulding has been enhanced even more by an inner hand finished slip. This gives the frame it’s own unique quality, creating a unity between frame and painting, meeting both the customer and individual paintings needs.
